What The Coop is all about

The Chicken Coop is the dream child of Artistic Director Jason Cooper. With over two decades worth of experience working in professional, regional, and community theatre as an actor and director Jason brings his unique vision to the Louisville arts community.

Mission Statement

The Chicken Coop’s mission is to enrich, educate and entertain the Louisville community through theatrical storytelling in three distinctive ways:

Mainstage Shows:

These productions focus on lesser-known and under-produced works, not often performed on Louisville stages.

Local Interest

The Chicken Coop Theatre Company is committed to producing and developing both established and original works that focus on the history and culture of Louisville, and Kentucky at large. It is our goal to provide local playwrights and artists a place to cultivate and develop their work.

Education and Outreach

The Chicken Coop supports a full creative life for all people, strives to create a space where all story tellers can create and share their stories.

It is with this philosophy that we dedicate our educational and outreach program to working with artists with disabilities.
